Steven K. Nord Named West Virginia Bar Foundation's 2007 Lawyer Citizen of the Year

On Friday, April 27, 2007, Steven K. Nord was presented Lawyer of the Year Award on behalf of the West Virginia Bar Foundation, Inc. at the West Virginia State Bar Association's Annual Meeting at the Greenbrier. The Bar Foundation has named a Citizen of the Year and Lawyer Citizen of the Year for the past nine years. These individuals have demonstrated leadership and service to the citizens of their communities and to the state. Throughout his career, Steve has consistently volunteered his time to serve the needs of the community and society. Steve currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Directors of Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity, which recently dedicated its 61st home and broke ground on its 62nd home; Member of Board of Directors/Executive Committee of the Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO); Member of Board of Directors of Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce; Member of Huntington YMCA Facilities and Physical Education Committee for the past five years; Member of the Mayor's Property/Casualty Loss Prevention Team; named 2007 Inductee to the St. Joseph Invitational Basketball Tournament Hall of Fame; is active in his church; and, has been a youth soccer coach.
Steve is licensed to practice law in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky and is also an agent licensed by the NFL Player's Association. Steve is a Member of the Board of Governor's of the West Virginia State Bar for a second term; Chairman of the West Virginia State Bar Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission; and Chairman of the State Bar Lawyer Mentoring Committee.
